Novosoft LLC Enhances Its Home and Business Backup Software Line with a New Disaster Recovery Tool

When installed on a Flash or USB drive, Handy Backup Disaster Recovery allows users to perform easy backup and disaster recovery of compter data independently of the computer's original operating system.

Alliance, Ohio, August 31, 2010 - Novosoft LLC, one of the leading providers of software solutions of enterprise level, announced the release of a new product that supplements their flagship line of backup utilities Handy Backup™ with one more strong means of data protection. Handy Backup Disaster Recovery is an innovative software providing a comfortable way to back up hard drives and recover them to a working state whatever happens. "We are excited about the new opportunities that Handy Backup Disaster Recovery brings to our users," says Alexander Prichalov, head of the development department. "It's been almost four years since we added an image feature to Handy Backup, but its usability and functionality was not so vast as image backups could only be recovered under a working system. The greatest thing about the new product is that users can create recovery drives that can be used to boot up the computer and recover all the data and the system in case of a disaster."

Disaster Recovery media created with the help of the new Novosoft's tool exploit a Linux-based operating system, so they can be used independently of the main computer's hard drive. This way the software solves the problem of copying and restoring sectors commonly locked by Windows : as the system is loaded from a recovery media, the original disk stays "cold".

"Handy Backup Disaster Recovery is a brilliant illustration of our efforts to develop a cross-platform backup solution suitable for every environment," added Mr. Prichalov. "The program can be compatible with all the systems supporting Java software , including Windows, Mac OS and Solaris – so it's not only limited to Linux."

The software is distributed as a shareware with a 30 days trial period. Purchasers of Handy Backup, starting with Professional edition, can use the same registration number to register Handy Backup Disaster Recovery. It can also be bought as a standalone product priced at $29.
